Топик My Medical College

My name is Mary. I’m seventeen years old. I live in Voronezh city. I have recently graduated from my high school and entered the Voronezh Medical College. It is one of the best colleges in the city. Besides, I have always wanted to study medicine after school. I really like this college and some of my close friends have also applied to study here.

My parents have always wanted me to be a teacher, but I have made up my mind to become a medical assistant or a nurse. The entrance exams included Сhemistry and Russian and I passed both of them with excellent marks. I am delighted to study such subjects as Anatomy, Latin, Сhemistry, Nursing, Genetics, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Physical Education and else. Our college is rather well equipped. There is a large sports ground outside and one gym inside. There is also a huge library with a good choice of medical books.

Actually, this college is one of the oldest educational institutions in the city and in Russia. It was founded in 1877. At first it was simply a paramedic school. After the revolution the first Soviet midwifery school was based here. In 1974 the school received the status of Voronezh basic medical college. Today, the college provides basic and advanced training in such specialties as dentistry, midwifery, paramedics, pharmacy, laboratory diagnosis, and some other branches. In addition, each year the college provides postgraduate training for nurses. I’m very proud to be a student of this college.

Today, Voronezh Medical College is one of the most prestigious and reliable institutions in the city. Thousands of young people can get decent education in healthcare area at this college.

Меня зовут Мария. Мне семнадцать лет. Я живу в Воронеже. Я недавно окончила среднюю школу и поступила в Воронежский медицинский колледж. Это один из лучших колледжей в городе. Кроме того, я всегда хотела изучать медицину после школы. Мне очень нравится этот колледж и некоторые из моих близких друзей, также подали документы для обучения в нём.

Мои родители всегда хотели, чтобы я стала учительницей, но я решила, что стану фельдшером или медсестрой. Вступительные экзамены включали химию и русский, и я сдала оба экзамена с отличием. Я рада изучать такие предметы, как анатомия, латынь, химию, медсестринское дело, генетика, фармакология, микробиология, физическая культуру и прочее. Наш колледж довольно хорошо оборудован. Снаружи есть большая спортивная площадка, а внутри - тренажерный зал. Есть также огромная библиотека с хорошим выбором медицинских книг.

На самом деле, этот колледж является одним из старейших учебных заведений в городе и в России. Он был основан в 1877 году. Сначала это была просто фельдшерская школы. После революции здесь базировалась первая советская школа для акушеров. В 1974 году школа получила статус базового Воронежского медицинского колледжа. Сегодня, колледж предоставляет основную и продвинутую подготовку по таким специальностям, как стоматология, акушерство, фельдшерское дело, фармакология, лабораторная диагностика, и некоторым другим направлениям. Кроме того, каждый год колледж проводит последипломное обучение медсестер. Я очень горжусь тем, что являюсь студенткой этого колледжа.

Сегодня Воронежский медицинский колледж является одним из самых престижных и надежных учреждений в городе. Тысячи молодых людей может получить достойное образование в области здравоохранения в этом колледже.

Life is what we make of it. Each decision we make chooses the path we head down, twisting and turning with the good and the bad. College is one of the biggest decisions to make in life, what to become, where to go. I know what life has become because I choose to at least start college. What I don’t know is how my life would have turned out had I not taken the time to explore.

When my senior year of high school came around so did the pressure. «What college are you going to?» «What are you going to major in?» «You need to make something of yourself!» For someone who had no clue as to what she wanted to major in or where she wanted to go, no one would ever have guessed. I made sure everyone believed that I had a plan. I was going to go to Ferris State University and major in pre-medicine. Considering I was an honors student in high school, my plan was feasible. After all, most of the women of my family are RN’s or medical assistants. I wanted to be more than that, I wanted a better job. My family is difficult to reason with. What they wanted always overrode what I wanted. I chose to be a physician. In turn, I made them happy by staying in the medical field and it made me happy because it was going for something greater. Any job outside of the medical field would not have been acceptable to them. I convinced everyone, including myself, that this was exactly what I wanted. It is amazing how a person can convince themselves of anything if they are told it enough times.

In the fall, I registered for some general education classes and moved into my new home, the dorm room. Like any other freshman, I went to orientation, met my roommate and classes got off to a good start, including my Algebra and Chemistry classes. I naturally seemed to do well in those subjects; however, my English and Humanities classes needed some work.

Campus life was so different from being at home with the family. There was no pressure, no rules, no one breathing down my neck expecting me to always be the best. It was an unusual feeling to have the freedom to just be me, to let go and have fun the way that I wanted to. I was finally an adult, ready to make my own decisions whether they are bad or good. And that is just what I was going to do.

My roommate was a year ahead of me and according to her, I had not experienced life. She meant that because I had never really partied before and my alcohol consumption was nil, I needed to become familiar with that aspect of life. Apparently, everyone is supposed to party when they are in college. I drank more alcohol in that one night than how many a normal person is supposed to consume in a day and a half. Shots, fuzzy navels, whiskey, and more just didn’t sit well in a stomach used to nothing stronger than a Shirley Temple. She had me praying to the porcelain gods by early morning. According to what everyone was telling me the next day, I was so drunk not only did I act ridiculous in public, but I was also making the cops and firemen raise eyebrows when I almost fell into the college’s annual bonfire. That was the first time that I ended up missing a couple day’s worth of classes. Heaving, headaches, and dizziness are just not symptoms I cared to inflict on myself regularly. It was an experience I swore would never happen again.

My English and Humanities classes were not going well, and missing the class due to a hangover did not seem to make matters any better. I was falling too far behind. It didn’t matter how long I stared at the computer screen, willing the words to come, I was not able to produce a paper for my English class. It seemed that I had forgotten everything I learned in high school about how to write a well-written paper in MLA format. Also, I could not seem to memorize all of the symbolism of various famous paintings throughout history for my Humanities class. After the fifth week of torturing myself and losing sleep, I finally realized that no one was telling me that I had to continue attending those classes after all the professors never seemed to care if I showed up or not. As an adult, I decided that it wasn’t necessary to continue going to class. I quit going and had the best night’s sleep I had in over 5 weeks. The only downside was the failing grade I ended up with, but even that didn’t really faze me. Unfortunately, I still had to pay for the classes I failed.

My other major rebellious act created some problems for my relationship with my fiance. I decided as part of my final experiences of life to start seeing another man. I wanted to make sure that I experienced everything I could, make sure that I really wanted to marry my fiance. The relationship between my fiance and I had been uneasy with difficulties on another front, but I had been sure of what I wanted until I started in college and really started evaluating what I wanted in life. I saw the other man, John, for a couple of weeks. I disappeared from my house for over a week; no one knew where I was if I was okay, or even if I was alive. I needed my space and John’s place was the answer. It was an experience, but not what I wanted for the rest of my life. The man was several years older than me and just not quite what I expected. John liked to dictate and as a new adult, it was stifling. The time with John was nothing more than a fling and enough for me to realize that what was waiting at home was more than I could ever hope for in a relationship.

Becoming an adult is an important transition in life. It is something that every person should go through. Some people go through their trials young, sixteen to twenty. Some people wait until their thirties to finally grow up and some people never do. I think that because I sowed my wild oats that the first year out of high school, my life is much richer than what it would have been if I waited to explore the world.

Had I not gone to college my life would have been drastically different. I would have married my fiance, Bill, right out of high school. We would have been okay for a couple of years, but I would have started having doubts. Was I really ready to settle down? Is Bill the right man for me? What if there was someone better out there? I would probably start exploring other options, not knowing for sure if he was the right guy for me. Cheating on my husband would cause my marriage to end with divorce within a year. If I have kids, they would hate me for the way I consider people disposable. I would still be working at a minimum wage job without a better future, friends, or meaningful relationships. I think I would be jumping from guy to guy, eventually ending up alone. I know how I felt four years ago and the feelings would only have grown stronger as time passed on, continuously wondering «what if» and I would never be satisfied.

I can see myself slowly becoming an alcoholic. It would start out as one harmless drink and escalate until it grows to full-blown alcoholism. My kids would slowly watch their mother drink more and more until alcohol ruled both her life and their lives. Drinking would have been an escape from the life I had jumped into. It would be similar to what my brother has done with his life. It can start out as a cheap form of entertainment and grow into a beast that sucks up the rent money. Eventually, I would not be able to function without a drink and end up living with my parents. I would lose my job and have several car accidents which could possibly result in death. My life would continue to spiral downwards until I got to the point where I saw the error of my ways if I ever did. Once in an alcoholic lifestyle, it is very hard to get out of it.

I eventually would figure out that this is not where I wanted to be in life. However, I do not see myself going to college for fear of not being able to achieve a degree. I would have low self-esteem. I would not even try to further my education. I would remain stuck at meaningless jobs, making minimum wage. I would not have the confidence to start something new and possible turn my life around. My children would not look up to me.

My choices in life, since high school, have been my choices. Some have been good, some have been bad. There are some that I am not proud of. Even with the bad decisions made, I wouldn’t want things to be any different. I have a husband to be proud of, one who I am completely loyal to, a beautiful daughter and a new start in school with a profession I want to be. «What ifs» are just those, a tool of self-reflection.

Стоит усвоить с раннего возраста, что научиться можно только тому, что любишь. И не позволять школьным предметам мешать образованию. Если вы любите англйиский — вы обязательно ему научитесь.

Let’s try to imagine the world without education, without any schools, colleges and universities. What would that be like? No school means no knowledge and skills. No university means no doctors, no engineers and no scientists. Therefore, it means no development and no inventions. Would you like to live in the world that is deteriorating? The answer is quite obvious: it’s vitally important to study and get an education.

Nowadays there’re different kinds of education, but the most wide-spread is still the traditional one that includes the set of establishments providing education. For the vast majority of people, the first step is a primary school where students get the basic skills of reading, writing and counting. The next stage is secondary school which gives broad knowledge about various subjects and prepares students for future professional education. At the end of the last form school children take exams and after school graduation they have several options: to stop studying and get a job or get professional education in college or university. Students’ life is not easy because they have to take exams every term and study hard to succeed. Nevertheless, most people remember students’ years as the best time of their lives, full of fun and entertainment.

However, modern world is full of new opportunities to get education. More and more schools and universities provide on-line courses and trainings. It has some advantages for sure, because you study in a comfortable place at comfortable time. Also, some alternative ways are becoming more and more popular, e.g. home education or some approaches connected with developing the mind without books and strict systems.

As for me, I’m fully convinced that, no matter what kind of education you support, it’s necessary to study and develop your skills, to use the experience of others to create your own ideas in order to implement them to life.

Давайте попробуем представить мир без образования, без школ, колледжей и университетов. Каким он будет? Отсутствие школ означает отсутствие знаний и навыков. Нет университетов — нет докторов, инженеров и ученых. Таким образом, отсутствие развития и изобретений. Вам бы хотелось жить в мире, который катится вниз? Ответ вполне очевиден: учиться и получать образование является жизненно необходимым.

Для большинства людей первым шагом является начальная школа, в которой учащиеся получают базовые навыки чтения, письма и вычисления. В завершении последнего класса ученики сдают экзамены и после окончания школы имеют несколько вариантов: закончить обучение и найти работу, или же получить профессиональное образование в колледже или университете. Студенческая жизнь нелегка, так как они вынуждены сдавать экзамены каждый семестр и усердно учится, чтобы преуспеть. Тем не менее, большинство людей вспоминают свои студенческие годы, как лучшее время их жизни, полное веселья и развлечений.

Однако, современный мир полон новых возможностей получения образования. Все больше и больше школ и университетов предлагают онлайн курсы и тренинги. В этом, конечно, также есть свои преимущества, так как обучение проходит в удобном месте, в удобное время. Также, некоторые альтернативные варианты становятся все более и более популярными, такие как домашнее обучение или различные подходы, направленные на развитие без использования книг и строгой системы.

Что касается меня, я убеждена, что неважно сторонником какого вида образования Вы являетесь, необходимо учиться и развивать свои способности, использовать опыт других специалистов для создания свих идей с целью воплотить их в реальность.

I study at the college of communication, information technology and management. Our college gives secondary-professional education.

There is a day time, an evening or correspondence departments at our college. The complete course of study lasts three years. About 8 hundreds of students study at the college. We study the humanities and the technical subjects and also have seminars and tutorials in these subjects.

The college is located on Chervishevskiy Trakt Street,13. It occupies a three-storeyed building. On the ground floor there is a gym, a canteen, a cloak room and some classrooms. On the first floor there is a big and beautiful assembly hall and different well- equipped classrooms. On the second floor there are some computer rooms with the modern equipment.

Students can live in the students hostels, which are located near the main building. The college gives students plenty of opportunities to develop themselves: besides getting professional knowledge we can participate in extracurricular activities, to attend different clubs.

Контрольная работа № 1 Общие указания

В процессе изучения дисциплины «Иностранный язык», каждый студент-заочник должен представить две контрольные работы, свидетельствующие о том, как он разобрался в изучаемом материале. При выполнении контрольных работ студенту следует использовать основную литературу, перечень которой приведен в конце данных рекомендаций. Желательно также использовать учебные пособия, помещенные в списке дополнительной литературы.

Работа должна быть выполнена грамотно и аккуратно, четким, разборчивым почерком; страницы пронумерованы. Выполняя контрольную работу, следует оставлять поля для замечаний рецензента, в конце текста указать использованную литературу, поставить дату выполнения и личную подпись.

Главным критерием оценки контрольной работы является правильность выполнения заданий. В случае, если письменная контрольная работа не будет зачтена, студент обязан написать новую контрольную работу с учетом сделанных рецензентом замечаний и представить ее вновь вместе с первой.

Первая контрольная работа состоит из десяти заданий. Перед ее выполнением необходимо изучить следующие темы: спряжение глагола to be, образование множественного числа существительных, употребление артиклей, личные, притяжательные и указательные местоимения, предлоги, притяжательный падеж существительных.

Вторая контрольная работа состоит из восьми заданий. Ее цель – проверка усвоения студентами следующих тем: употребление артиклей, употребление модальных глаголов, употребление наречий much, many, few, little, употребление степеней сравнения прилагательных, употребление страдательного залога, употребление времен группы Indefinite и Continuous.

Для первокурсников группы 1261с cпециальность «Земельно-имущественные отношения» колледж уже стал вторым домом, который каждый день ждёт таких разных и таких замечательных, способных студентов.

В рамках программы «Введение в специальность» ребята знакомятся со своей специальностью.

На очередном занятии познакомились с историей и традициями колледжа, побывали в библиотеке. Гостеприимная хозяйка - заведующая библиотекой Любовь Алексеевна Маршева, которая работает в колледже уже 40 лет, выдала новым читателям формуляры и рассказала о правилах пользования библиотекой. Из первых уст ветерана колледжа ребята услышали интересный рассказ об истории колледжа, познакомились с материалами (фотографиями выпускников, альбомами, интересными экспонатами), собранными Любовью Алексеевной.

Одно дело - прочитать о колледже, и совсем другое - живое общение с интересным, увлечённым человеком. Под впечатлениями от услышанного и увиденного в библиотеке, на занятии «Введение в специальность» ребята написали эссе «Мой колледж». Они написали о том, что им нравится колледж, нравится здесь учиться. С каждым днём они утверждаются в правильности сделанного ими выбора.

Я - студент 1 курса «ТЭПК». Специальность «Земельно-имущественные отношения». По этой специальности обучают только в этом колледже. Именно поэтому я выбрал ТЭПК. У колледжа очень богатая и длинная история. Он был открыт в 1942 году (6 июля). Тогда это был «Томский механический техникум», ведь нужны были специалисты в этой области. В 1945г. переименован в «Томский машиностроительный техникум». С 2004г. «Томский экономико-промышленный колледж». В колледже большие и уютные аудитории, отличная библиотека с читальным залом. В ней много разнообразных книг. В колледже много кружков для студентов. Студенты нашей группы участвовали на Дне учителя, выступали на сцене. Мне приятно находиться в колледже. Я доволен, что поступил именно сюда.

Я хочу рассказать вам об учебном заведении, в котором учусь. Это «Томский экономико-промышленный колледж». Вначале я хотела бы отметить, что наше учебное заведение не новое и имеет свою историю.
Как я представляю себе обучение в колледже? Во - первых, колледж - это намного более серьёзное учреждение, нежели школа. Это связано, прежде всего, с тем, что в колледже начинается формироваться профессиональная составляющая в человеке. Я стараюсь учиться в колледже ещё более серьёзно, нежели в школе. Я посещаю все пары и понимаю всю серьёзность будущей профессии. Моя специальность называется «Земельно-имущественные отношения». Выбрала я эту специальность потому, что моя семья хорошо разбирается в этой сфере деятельности и мне это тоже интересно.
Обучение в ТЭПК мне нравится. Преподаватели - специалисты в своём деле. Всё хорошо объясняют, многому нас учат. Хочется надеяться, что серьёзное обучение в колледже принесёт свои плоды, в результате чего я смогу построить карьеру.

Колледж - это место для приобретения знаний и опыта по своей специальности. В колледже нас обучают новому, помогают найти себя. Колледж и м моя группа - это ещё единая семья. Здесь происходят важные уроки жизни. Здесь мы встречаем настоящих друзей. Как бы не было трудно, нас всегда поймут и помогут. Все преподаватели- мастера своего дела, с честью преподают нам. Колледж помогает нам стать чуточку взрослее и ответственнее. Сюда ты идёшь сам и начинаешь строить свою маленькую лестницу в дальнейшей жизни. Я не пожалела, что поступила в колледж. Я стала ответственнее и я думаю, что за эти 3 года у меня будет много хороших воспоминаний о моём колледже.
